Welcome to Hawaii, the Aloha State!   Congratulations on your new assignment to Hickam Air Force Base. The 15th Airlift Wing is composed of four groups each with specific functions. The Operations Group controls all flying and airfield operations. The Maintenance Group performs Aircraft and Aircraft support equipment maintenance. The Mission Support Group has a wide range of responsibility but a few of its functions are Security, Civil Engineering, Communications, Personnel Management, Logistics, Services and Contracting support. While the Medical Group provides medical and dental care. Hickam is also host to numerous tenant organizations. Most notable of these are Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, the 13th Air Force Headquarters, Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command, the Hawaii Air National Guard 154th Wing, 715th Air Mobility Operations Group, 502nd Air Operations Group, 67th Information Operations Group, 735th Air Mobility Squadron, 324th Intelligence Squadron and the 352nd Information Operations Squadron. In all, our wing supports 140 tenant and associate units.
Coming to a new base overseas can be very difficult. Some of the topics listed below should be helpful to each newcomer, making an easy transition to paradise!
